Episode 8 is the 8th episode in Series 1. It aired on 29th March 1978.
Summary[]
Benny Green chases Tucker Jenkins around the school with a mop head and Miss Mather is angry with Michael Doyle when he ruins some work. Trisha Yates turns up to class in coloured socks and Miss Mather gives her 3 hours of detention. Miss Mather shows the class the flintlock pistols she has borrowed as models for the class to make props for the school festival. During break, Miss Mather leaves her Art room and Michael goes in and Tucker sees them leave. Mrs Monroe takes Mr Mitchell out of his class and she informs him a flintlock pistol has gone missing and they suspect it has been stolen by form One Alpha or form One Beta. Mrs Monroe tells him she left the door unlocked and Mr Starling is threatening to cancel the festival and bring in the police. Mrs Monroe also gives him Trisha to deal with. Mr Mitchell tells his class about the theft and he keeps Trisha behind to speak about the incident with Miss Mather. Mr Mitchell warns her it can't go on and Trisha apologises. Tucker waits for Michael and tells him he knows he took the gun and will tell Mr Mitchell, but Michael isn't bothered and Trisha overhears Tucker telling Benny about it. Ann Wilson, Mary Johnson and Trisha are stopped by a 3rd year who wants the festival to take place. Trisha, Ann and Mary talk to Tucker and Benny about Michael and they decide to pressurise him. Benny takes his sketchbook, Trisha refuses to lend him a pencil and Tucker and Michael end up fighting after class. Tucker, Benny, Trisha, Ann and Judy Preston realise Michael won't own up as he will get in trouble and Ann suggests to Mr Mitchell and Mrs Monroe that the flintlock should be returned anonymously. Mr Mitchell lets the class know Mr Starling has agreed to an amnesty as long as thevflintlock is returned by 4pm the next day. Michael and his friends fight with Tucker and his friends, including Benny and Alan Hargreaves. Michael comes to school with a black eye and Mr Mitchell tells the class the flintlock was returned and the festival will take place.
